Wholesale squid jig manufacturers

When evaluating squid jigs (Egi), focus on the sink rate, which typically ranges from 3.0 to 5.5 seconds per meter depending on the water depth. Ensure the hooks (umbrellas) are made of SUS304 or SUS316 stainless steel to prevent corrosion in saltwater. The body material should be high-density ABS plastic for durability, and the external cloth wrap must be abrasion-resistant with UV-reflective or luminous (glow-in-the-dark) properties to attract cephalopods in low-light conditions.

A premium squid jig must maintain a 45-degree downward posture while sinking. You should request a video of a tank test from the supplier to verify the 'darting' action. Check the internal weight distribution; high-end models often use tungsten or lead alloy sinkers positioned precisely to ensure the jig doesn't tumble during casting. For B2B buyers, consistency across batches is critical to maintain your brand's reputation.

Many regions, particularly the EU and certain US states, have strict regulations regarding lead content. Ensure your supplier can provide RoHS or REACH certification if they use lead sinkers, or opt for eco-friendly zinc or tungsten weights. Additionally, verify that the paints and adhesives used are non-toxic and meet ISO 14001 environmental management standards to avoid customs seizures or legal liabilities.

To differentiate your product, inquire about custom laser-etched patterns, 3D holographic eyes, and internal rattle chambers that emit sonic vibrations. Most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer customized blister packaging with your brand logo. Ensure the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for custom colors is clearly defined, usually starting at 500-1,000 pieces per SKU.

The most common risk in wholesale lures is water ingress into the body. Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) where a random sample is subjected to a pressure test or immersion test. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to ensure payment is only released after the quality inspection report is approved. Always request a Gold Sample before mass production to serve as a benchmark for quality.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 5,000 vs. 10,000 units) and discuss payment terms such as a 30% deposit and 70% balance after inspection. If you are a repeat buyer, negotiate for free spare parts (like extra hooks or feathers) or a reduction in mold costs for exclusive designs.

Squid jigs are relatively high-density but low-volume products. For orders under 100kg, Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is fastest for seasonal demand. However, for wholesale volumes, Sea Freight (LCL - Less than Container Load) is significantly more economical. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof export cartons and desiccant packs to prevent salt-air corrosion or mold on the cloth wraps during long transit times.

Before sharing technical drawings or unique color patterns, have the supplier sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Choose reputable manufacturers on Made-in-China.com who have a history of serving international brands, as they are more likely to respect IP rights to maintain their platform standing. Register your trademark in the manufacturing country to provide an extra layer of legal protection.
