Riboflavin price manufacturers

When sourcing Riboflavin, you must distinguish between Feed Grade (80% purity) and Food/Pharma Grade (95-99% purity). The price is heavily influenced by the assay content, particle size (mesh), and solubility. For food applications, ensure the product meets USP, EP, or BP pharmacopoeia standards. High-quality Riboflavin should have a loss on drying of ≤1.5% and a residue on ignition of ≤0.3% to ensure chemical stability and value for money.

Riboflavin is primarily produced via microbial fermentation. Prices may fluctuate based on the strain efficiency and raw material costs (like glucose or vegetable oil). To ensure global market access and premium quality, prioritize suppliers with ISO 22000, HACCP, FAMI-QS (for feed), and Kosher/Halal certifications. Products with Non-GMO project verification often command a higher price point but are essential for the European and North American health-conscious markets.

Riboflavin serves as a critical micronutrient in three main sectors: Animal Nutrition (promoting growth and fertility), Food & Beverage (as a yellow colorant and nutritional fortifier), and Pharmaceuticals (therapeutic supplements). For B2B buyers, the functional requirement often involves flowability and stability; for example, spray-dried granules are preferred for tablet compression or premixing to prevent dust and ensure uniform distribution.

The Riboflavin market is highly concentrated among a few global manufacturers, making it sensitive to environmental regulation changes in China and supply chain disruptions. Buyers should watch for anti-dumping duties in specific regions. To mitigate risk, it is recommended to lock in prices with long-term contracts when market trends are low and use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment safety until the goods pass quality inspection.

Negotiation should focus on Volume-Based Tiered Pricing. For orders exceeding 500kg to 1 ton, suppliers typically offer a 5-10% discount. Additionally, discuss packaging customization (e.g., 25kg drums vs. big bags) which can impact shipping costs. Always request a COA (Certificate of Analysis) for the specific batch before finalizing the price, and ask for free samples (shipping excluded) to verify the color and solubility.

Riboflavin is sensitive to light and moisture. Ensure the supplier uses double-layered PE bags inside fiber drums and provides cool, dry container shipping (reefer containers are not usually necessary, but climate-controlled storage is preferred). For customs clearance, ensure the HS Code (typically 29362300) is correctly declared. When shipping to the US or EU, verify that the manufacturer is FDA registered or has a REACH registration number to avoid port seizures.
