Portable x ray scanner manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize image resolution (pixel pitch) and penetration depth, typically measured in steel thickness (e.g., 25mm to 40mm). Ensure the device features a high-frequency generator to reduce radiation leakage and a long-lasting lithium battery capable of at least 4-6 hours of continuous operation. For digital systems, verify the IP rating (e.g., IP54 or IP67) to ensure durability in outdoor or rugged environments.

As radiation-emitting equipment, products must adhere to IEC 60601-1 for medical electrical equipment safety or ISO 13485 for quality management systems. For security applications, look for CE (EMC & LVD) and FCC certifications. It is critical to ensure the supplier provides a Radiation Safety Report and that the device complies with the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) safety fundamentals.

Portable X-ray scanners are generally divided into Security/EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), Industrial NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), and Medical/Veterinary use. Security models require organic/inorganic material discrimination (dual-energy), while industrial models focus on high-contrast imaging for detecting cracks in pipelines or aerospace components. Ensure the software supports DICOM for medical use or proprietary image enhancement tools for security screening.

Calculate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by including the detector panel lifespan, software license renewal fees, and calibration costs. Opting for a supplier on Made-in-China.com that offers modular components can significantly reduce long-term maintenance costs, as individual parts like the X-ray tube or wireless router can be replaced without discarding the entire system.

Portable X-ray scanners contain lithium batteries and sensitive electronic vacuum tubes, classifying them as Class 9 Dangerous Goods in some jurisdictions. You must ensure the supplier provides a UN38.3 Test Report for batteries and uses specialized shock-absorbent packaging. Always request CIF or DAP terms with comprehensive marine/air cargo insurance to cover potential calibration shifts caused by rough handling during transit.

Utilize Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to hold payments in escrow until the goods pass a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI). Negotiate a warranty period of at least 24 months and insist on a Service Level Agreement (SLA) that guarantees remote technical support response within 12 hours, as downtime for these devices can be critical for operations.

Many countries require an Import License for Radiation Sources. Before finalizing the purchase, consult your local Atomic Energy Regulatory Board or Customs to confirm the specific HS Code (typically 9022.19) requirements. Failure to provide the correct Declaration of Conformity can lead to the equipment being seized or returned at the buyer's expense.
