Polystone statue manufacturers

Polystone is a compound of polyurethane resin mixed with powdered stone additives, which gives the statue significant weight and a porcelain-like feel. Unlike pure resin, it is highly effective at capturing intricate details and maintaining a stone-like texture, making it the industry standard for high-end collectibles and garden decor.

Buyers should prioritize hand-painted finishes over machine-sprayed ones for premium markets. Ensure the supplier uses UV-resistant and non-toxic paints (such as acrylic-based) to prevent fading. Request close-up photos of the eyes and skin gradients, as these are the primary indicators of a skilled artisan team.

For the US market, ensure products pass ASTM F963 (if categorized as collectibles/toys) and California Proposition 65 for lead and phthalate content. For the EU, REACH compliance and CE marking are essential. Always request heavy metal testing reports from third-party labs like SGS or Intertek.

For statues exceeding 50cm, verify if the supplier uses internal steel or fiberglass reinforcements to prevent structural snapping. Polystone is brittle by nature, so the 'tenon and mortise' joints for detachable parts (like wings or weapons) should be reinforced with magnets or metal pegs.

Polystone is extremely fragile. You must mandate Drop Test Level 1A packaging, which includes custom-fit Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) or EPE foam and double-walled corrugated outer cartons. Avoid 'bulk packing'; each unit should be in a dedicated inner box.

Focus on mold ownership and sample lead times. Negotiate a lower unit price for repeat orders once the initial mold cost is amortized. Always clarify that the final mass production quality must match the approved golden sample, or a penalty clause will apply.

Utilize Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to ensure payments are only released upon proof of shipment. Conduct a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) to verify the quantity and quality before the final 70% balance payment is made.

Due to the high weight-to-volume ratio, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical choice. For high-value limited editions, Sea-Air combined transport can balance cost and safety. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined as FOB or CIF to manage risk transitions effectively.
