Plastic electric lighter manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize lithium-polymer battery capacity (typically 200-300mAh) to ensure at least 50-80 ignitions per charge. The housing must be made of flame-retardant ABS or PC plastic to prevent melting. For arc lighters, ensure the dual-arc or single-arc electrodes are made of high-temperature resistant ceramics. Additionally, look for LED battery indicators and micro-USB or Type-C charging ports for modern compatibility.

Since these contain batteries and heating elements, they must meet UN38.3 for battery transport safety and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) requirements. For the US market, FCC certification is required, while the EU market necessitates CE marking and RoHS compliance to ensure no hazardous substances are used in the plastic or electronics. ISO 22702 is the specific international standard for utility lighters that buyers should verify.

Request a drop test report (usually 1.5 meters) to ensure the plastic shell does not crack and the internal circuitry remains functional. The surface finish should be checked for UV coating or rubberized oil paint to prevent scratches and improve grip. Ensure the safety lock mechanism is robust enough to pass child-resistance (CPSC) testing protocols.

Electric lighters are categorized into pocket lighters for personal use and long-neck flexible lighters for kitchens or candles. For outdoor scenarios, prioritize IP56 waterproof and windproof ratings. Functional upgrades like built-in flashlights or carabiner clips can add significant value for the camping and survivalist niche markets.

Electric lighters are classified as Dangerous Goods (Class 9) due to the lithium batteries. You must ensure the supplier provides PI967 packaging compliance (batteries contained in equipment). Using a freight forwarder experienced in DG (Dangerous Goods) shipping is critical to avoid customs seizures or airline rejections. Always confirm if the supplier can provide a Certificate for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. When negotiating, request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify that the battery cycle life and plastic quality match the approved samples. Clearly define defective rate allowances (typically <1%) in the contract.

When opting for silk-screen printing on plastic, ensure the ink is heat-resistant so it doesn't peel during use. For large orders, ask for a mold-sharing agreement if you are developing a custom shape. Be wary of 'too-low' prices, as they often indicate the use of recycled plastic (regrind) which is more brittle and prone to thermal deformation.

Check the HS Code (typically 961380) for specific import duties in your country. Some regions have strict anti-dumping duties on lighters. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to potentially benefit from preferential tariff rates under trade agreements like RCEP or GSP.
