Old man mobile phone manufacturers

When sourcing for the elderly demographic, prioritize large physical buttons with high-contrast numbering and backlighting. The display should feature high-brightness LCD panels with extra-large font support. Crucially, ensure the device includes a dedicated SOS emergency button on the back that can trigger loud sirens and auto-dial pre-set contacts. Additionally, look for HAC (Hearing Aid Compatibility) and high-decibel dual speakers to accommodate users with hearing impairments.

Compliance is non-negotiable for electronic imports. For the US market, devices must have FCC certification and support 4G LTE bands (VoLTE), as 2G/3G networks are largely decommissioned. For the EU market, CE marking and RoHS compliance (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) are required. Ensure the batteries have UN38.3 and MSDS reports to facilitate legal and safe international air or sea freight.

Seniors often forget to charge devices, so look for a battery capacity of at least 1000mAh to 1500mAh, which provides 7-10 days of standby time. To improve user experience, prioritize suppliers offering desktop charging docks (cradles) rather than just standard USB cables, as they eliminate the difficulty of plugging in small connectors for users with limited dexterity.

The UI should be a simplified operating system with a 'grid' layout and no complex sub-menus. Essential functions include speed dial (photo dialing), voice broadcast (where the phone reads out the numbers pressed), and a built-in FM radio that works without headphones. Avoid bloatware that could confuse the user or lead to accidental data charges.

The biggest risk is network frequency incompatibility. Always verify that the phone's supported bands (B1/B2/B3, etc.) align with the telecom carriers in your target country. Another risk is battery quality; ensure the supplier uses Grade A lithium-ion cells to prevent swelling or fire hazards during long-term storage or transit.

Start by requesting a sample order to verify build quality and software localization. When moving to bulk, negotiate based on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) tiers; for example, a 15-20% discount is often achievable when moving from 100 units to 1,000 units. Ask for 1-3% spare units or key components (like screens and batteries) to be included free of charge to handle local warranty claims.

Use Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released after shipping verification. For shipping, mobile phones contain batteries and are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG); you must use a freight forwarder experienced in battery-inclusive electronics to avoid customs seizures. Always opt for FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable logistics partner to maintain better control over shipping costs and insurance.
