Kraft paper bag manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize paper weight (GSM), typically ranging from 60gsm to 150gsm, depending on the load requirements. For heavy-duty applications, ensure the use of virgin wood pulp rather than recycled pulp to enhance tensile strength and burst resistance. Additionally, verify the handle reinforcement method (e.g., twisted paper, flat paper, or cotton rope with reinforced patches) to prevent tearing during use.

For food packaging, products must comply with FDA (US) or EC 1935/2004 (EU) regulations regarding food contact materials. It is critical to ensure the bags are BPA-free and use food-grade soy-based inks for printing. Furthermore, look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to guarantee that the paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests, which is a key requirement for ESG-conscious markets.

Request information on their printing technology, such as flexographic or offset printing. For high-end retail bags, offset printing provides superior color accuracy and detail. Ensure the supplier can match Pantone colors with a variance of less than Delta E < 2.0. You should also confirm their ability to apply finishes like UV coating, hot stamping, or embossing to enhance brand positioning.

Brown Kraft paper is generally stronger due to its long-fiber structure and is more cost-effective for industrial or grocery use. White Kraft paper, which is bleached, offers a cleaner aesthetic and better color reproduction for multi-color branding, making it ideal for luxury retail and gift packaging. However, white Kraft may have slightly lower tear resistance compared to unbleached versions of the same weight.

The main risks include moisture damage during sea transit and dimensional inaccuracies. To mitigate these, require suppliers to use heavy-duty moisture-proof inner lining (PE bags) and palletize the goods with shrink wrap. Always utilize Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to ensure payment is only released after the goods pass a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI).

Pricing is highly sensitive to raw material pulp indices. Negotiate a tiered pricing structure based on volume; for example, increasing an order from 10,000 to 50,000 units can often reduce the unit price by 15-25%. If you are a startup, look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer low MOQs (e.g., 500-1,000 units) for digital printing, even if the unit cost is slightly higher, to test market response.

Kraft paper bags are volume-heavy and weight-sensitive. For large orders, FCL (Full Container Load) is significantly more economical than LCL to avoid crushing damage from other shippers' goods. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined; FOB (Free On Board) is recommended for buyers who have their own freight forwarders to better control shipping lead times and local port charges.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers whose factory premises, production lines, and quality management systems have been verified by independent agencies like SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TÜV Rheinland. Check their Export Experience—suppliers who regularly ship to your target region (e.g., North America or Europe) will be more familiar with local customs documentation and tariff codes (HS Code 481940).
