Italy design sunglass manufacturers

When sourcing Italy design sunglasses, prioritize Mazzucchelli Acetate for frames, as it offers superior color depth and hypoallergenic properties. For lenses, ensure the use of CR-39 or Polycarbonate for impact resistance. Metal components should ideally be 316L Stainless Steel or Titanium with IP (Ion Plating) to prevent corrosion and skin irritation.

Products must adhere to ISO 12312-1 standards. For the US market, FDA 21 CFR 801.410 (Drop Ball Test) is mandatory to prove impact resistance. For the EU, CE Marking and compliance with REACH regulations (specifically regarding nickel release and lead content) are essential for legal sale.

Suppliers should provide a UV400 certification, indicating the lenses block 99% to 100% of UV light up to 400 nanometers. It is recommended to request a spectrophotometer test report from a third-party lab to verify these claims before finalizing a bulk order.

Look for OBE or Comotec hinges (German/Italian brands) which ensure smooth temple movement and longevity. Additionally, Anti-Reflective (AR) coatings on the backside of the lens and hydrophobic coatings to repel water and oil are hallmarks of high-quality eyewear.

When sourcing 'Italy Design' products, ensure the supplier has the right to use the design or provides Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) services. Avoid products with logos that closely mimic famous brands. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure you are dealing with audited suppliers who hold valid business licenses.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for lower MOQs on initial trial colors while committing to a larger total volume. Ask for spare parts (screws, nose pads, hinges) to be included at no extra cost, typically representing 2-3% of the order volume.

Eyewear is fragile; insist on double-walled corrugated export cartons and individual protective polybags or hard cases. For international shipping, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over the freight forwarder and insurance, ensuring coverage against crushing or moisture damage during transit.

Always use Escrow-based payment systems or Letters of Credit (L/C) for large transactions. Never wire full payments upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance after a successful pre-shipment inspection (PSI) is the industry benchmark for securing your capital.
