Furniture polish manufacturers

When sourcing furniture polish, you must distinguish between oil-based, wax-based, and aerosol sprays. For high-end wood furniture, prioritize beeswax or carnauba wax formulations as they provide a long-lasting protective barrier. For general retail, silicone-free sprays are increasingly popular because silicone can leave a smeary residue that makes future refinishing difficult. Ensure the VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content complies with the environmental regulations of your target market.

As a chemical product, furniture polish must have a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or SDS provided by the supplier. For the US market, ensure compliance with TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act); for the EU, REACH registration is essential. If the product is an aerosol, it must meet ADR (Dangerous Goods by Road) or IATA standards for pressurized containers to ensure safety during transit and storage.

Request samples to test viscosity, drying time, and gloss levels. A high-quality polish should offer UV protection to prevent wood fading and be water-resistant. Conduct a 'smear test' to ensure it doesn't leave a greasy film. Furthermore, verify the shelf life, which should ideally be 24 to 36 months for bulk inventory stability.

To prevent leakage during long-haul sea freight, specify induction-sealed bottles and double-walled corrugated export cartons. For aerosol products, UN-certified packaging for hazardous materials is mandatory. Ensure all labels include multi-language safety warnings and clear usage instructions to meet consumer protection laws in the destination country.

The biggest risk is customs seizure due to improper chemical documentation. Always verify that the supplier's MSDS is up-to-date and matches the batch number. Another risk is leakage during temperature fluctuations in containers; ensure your shipping contract includes moisture-proof and temperature-stable storage requirements.

Focus on tiered pricing based on active ingredient concentration. Lower-cost polishes often have higher water content. Negotiate a lower MOQ for the first trial order to test market response, but aim for a 15-20% discount on full container loads (FCL). On platforms like Made-in-China.com, look for 'Diamond Members' who offer OEM/Private Labeling services included in the bulk price.

Use Trade Assurance or Escrow services to protect your payment until the goods pass a pre-shipment inspection (PSI). For shipping, since liquid/aerosol is often classified as Class 2 or Class 3 dangerous goods, work with a freight forwarder experienced in DG (Dangerous Goods) handling. Always request FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over the shipping costs and the choice of carrier.
