Ford ac compressors manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize OEM compatibility and part number matching (e.g., YCC series for Ford) to ensure precise fitment. Key technical factors include the clutch diameter, number of grooves on the pulley (typically 6 or 7 for Ford), and the voltage (12V). Additionally, verify the refrigerant type, as most modern Ford systems use R134a or R1234yf, and the compressor must be pre-filled with the correct PAG oil viscosity to prevent immediate seizure upon installation.

Look for suppliers who perform 100% helium leak testing and functional noise testing before shipping. High-quality compressors should feature high-strength aluminum alloy housings for heat dissipation and premium NBR seals to prevent refrigerant loss. Ensure the manufacturer complies with IATF 16949:2016, which is the international standard for automotive quality management systems, ensuring the product can withstand high-pressure cycles and extreme engine bay temperatures.

Products must meet SAE J639 standards for safety and design of atmospheric refrigerant systems. For the European market, compliance with REACH and RoHS is essential to ensure no hazardous substances are used in the components. Furthermore, ensure the packaging meets ISPM 15 wood packaging standards if using pallets, and that the units are hermetically sealed to prevent moisture ingress during sea freight.

Implement a strict sample validation process before placing bulk orders. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after successful third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI). Focus on the failure rate (PPM); reputable suppliers should guarantee a defect rate of less than 1% and offer a 12-month or 30,000km warranty.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 100, 500, and 1000 units) and inquire if the clutch assembly is included in the price, as some suppliers quote the body only. For long-term partnerships, request customized packaging (SKU labeling) to facilitate easier inventory management upon arrival in your local warehouse.

Compressors contain oil and are heavy, classified as dense cargo. To optimize costs, use Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) rather than air. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the compressor oil to avoid customs delays. For shipping to the US or Europe, verify the Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 8414.30) to accurately calculate import duties and anti-dumping taxes that may apply to automotive components.
