Epdm rubber washer manufacturers

When selecting EPDM washers, you must prioritize Hardness (Durometer), typically ranging from 40 to 80 Shore A, depending on the sealing pressure required. Ensure the Temperature Resistance aligns with your needs, as high-quality EPDM should withstand -40°C to +120°C. Additionally, verify the Tensile Strength (min. 5-10 MPa) and Elongation at Break (min. 200%) to ensure the washer does not crack under mechanical stress.

For EPDM washers, compliance is region-specific. If the product is for water systems, look for WRAS (UK) or NSF/ANSI 61 (USA) certifications. For general industrial use in the EU, REACH and RoHS compliance is mandatory to ensure the absence of hazardous substances. For automotive applications, ensure the supplier follows IATF 16949 quality management systems.

EPDM is the superior choice for Outdoor Applications due to its exceptional Ozone, UV, and Weather resistance. Unlike NBR (Nitrile), EPDM is not oil-resistant but excels in Phosphate Ester-based hydraulic fluids and Steam environments. If your application involves food contact, FDA-grade EPDM is required, though Silicone may offer higher temperature peaks.

Standard EPDM washers usually follow ISO 3302-1 Class M2 for precision molded parts. For die-cut washers, ensure the supplier can maintain a thickness tolerance of ±0.1mm to ±0.2mm. Requesting a PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) level 3 report is recommended for high-precision industrial batches to guarantee dimensional consistency.

To avoid low-quality fillers, request a Specific Gravity (Density) Test Report; virgin EPDM typically has a density between 1.1 to 1.3 g/cm³. You should also utilize Made-in-China.com's Audit Reports to verify if the supplier has in-house testing labs for Compression Set and Aging Tests.

Since EPDM is a commodity, prices fluctuate with raw material costs. Negotiate based on Weight-based Pricing for bulk orders rather than unit price. For custom sizes, offer to pay the Molding Cost (Tooling Fee) upfront to secure a Lower MOQ and lower unit prices for subsequent repeat orders.

Rubber can degrade if exposed to extreme heat or humidity during transit. Ensure the supplier uses UV-resistant PE bag packaging and Sealed Cartons to prevent oxidation. For sea freight, request Palletization with Shrink Wrap to avoid deformation of the washers at the bottom of the stack due to heavy pressure.

Always use Secured Payment Services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Additionally, hire a Third-Party Inspection (TPI) service like SGS or Intertek to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the quantity and material hardness before the final balance is paid.
