Condom for male manufacturers

Male condoms are classified as Medical Devices, meaning compliance is non-negotiable. You must ensure the supplier holds ISO 4074, which is the international standard for natural rubber latex condoms. For specific markets, verify CE Marking (EU), FDA 510(k) clearance (USA), or SABS (South Africa). Additionally, the manufacturer should possess an ISO 13485 certification for medical device quality management systems.

Focus on three critical metrics: Burst Volume and Pressure, Freedom from Holes (Pinhole Testing), and Lubrication Quantity. Standard condoms usually require a minimum burst volume of 18.0 dm³ and a burst pressure of 1.0 kPa. Ensure the lubricant used is medical-grade silicone oil, typically ranging from 400mg to 600mg per unit, and verify if the supplier offers specialized types like ribbed, dotted, or ultra-thin (0.03mm - 0.04mm) variants.

Condoms typically have a shelf life of 3 to 5 years. You should request Accelerated Aging Test reports to confirm stability. Ensure the packaging uses high-barrier aluminum foil to protect against UV light and oxygen, which degrade latex. For buyers targeting sensitive markets, inquire about Non-Latex (Polyurethane or Polyisoprene) options to cater to users with latex allergies.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer extensive OEM services. This includes custom foil printing, bespoke box packaging (3-pack, 10-pack, 12-pack), and unique textures or flavors. When opting for OEM, ensure the registration holder information on the packaging complies with the destination country's labeling laws, including the clear display of expiry dates and batch numbers.

The biggest risk is Regulatory Seizure due to improper medical registration in the destination country. Another risk is Material Degradation during transit if goods are exposed to extreme heat. Always use reputable inspection services to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) following AQL 0.25 for holes and AQL 1.0 for visual defects.

Utilize Secured Payment terms and clearly define the Quality Agreement in the contract. Specify that final payment is contingent upon a passed third-party lab test. For large orders, negotiate a staggered payment schedule (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after inspection but before shipment) to maintain leverage over quality control.

Condoms are sensitive to environmental factors. Ensure the shipping container is kept away from heat sources and stored in a cool, dry place (below 30°C). Avoid shipping via methods that expose the product to prolonged moisture. On Made-in-China.com, look for suppliers experienced in Medical Logistics who understand the importance of 'First-In, First-Out' (FIFO) inventory management.

Be aware of Anti-dumping duties that some countries may impose on latex products from specific regions. Check the Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 4014.10) against your local tariff schedule. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to take advantage of any applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that could reduce import duties.
