Borax decahydrate manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the purity level, typically requiring a minimum of 99.5% for high-end industrial applications. Key chemical parameters include the B2O3 (Boric Oxide) content, which should be approximately 36.5%, and the Na2O (Sodium Oxide) content around 16.2%. Additionally, monitor the insoluble matter; for glass and ceramic manufacturing, this should be less than 0.05% to ensure product clarity and structural integrity.

As a chemical substance, Borax Decahydrate must be accompanied by a comprehensive Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliant with the GHS (Globally Harmonized System). For exports to the EU, REACH registration is critical as Borax is classified under the SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) list. For US-bound shipments, ensure compliance with TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) regulations.

Borax Decahydrate is available in granular, powder, or crystalline forms. Granular forms are preferred for glass manufacturing to reduce dust and improve flowability in automated feeders. Fine powder is better suited for detergents and fertilizers where rapid solubility is required. Always specify the mesh size range (e.g., 30-100 mesh) in your RFQ to avoid processing issues in your production line.

Borax Decahydrate is efflorescent, meaning it can lose its water of crystallization if stored in dry air, potentially turning into Borax Pentahydrate. It must be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances like strong acids. Ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging, such as PE-lined PP woven bags, to prevent caking during sea transit.

The main risk is moisture absorption and clumping during long-duration sea freight. It is highly recommended to use desiccants in containers and ensure palletized packaging with shrink wrap. Furthermore, verify if the shipping line classifies your specific grade as hazardous or non-hazardous to avoid port delays; while Borax is often non-regulated for transport, some local customs may require a Certification for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods.

Utilize the Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. To ensure quality, mandate a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by third parties like SGS or Intertek to verify the boron content and impurity levels against the agreed-upon sample. Never release the final payment until the Bill of Lading (B/L) and the Certificate of Analysis (COA) are verified.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; for Borax, price breaks often occur at 20ft FCL (Full Container Load) increments. Discuss long-term contract pricing to hedge against the volatility of raw boron ore prices. Additionally, negotiate for OEM packaging if you are a distributor, ensuring the bags include your brand and the required multilingual hazard warnings for your local market.

Check the HS Code (typically 252800) for specific import tariffs in your country. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions may impose on Chinese chemical exports. Always request a Certificate of Origin (Form E or Form F) from your supplier on Made-in-China.com to take advantage of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) which can significantly reduce or eliminate import duties.
