Alloy eyewear frames price manufacturers

When sourcing alloy frames, you should distinguish between Monel (nickel-copper alloy), Stainless Steel, and Memory Metal (Titanium-Nickel). Monel is highly malleable and corrosion-resistant, making it ideal for complex designs. Stainless steel is preferred for hypoallergenic properties and lightweight durability, while memory metal is best for high-flexibility applications where frames must return to their original shape after bending.

Prioritize suppliers using IP (Ion Plating) or PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) rather than traditional water electroplating. IP plating offers superior wear resistance and prevents the frame color from fading or peeling. Additionally, ensure the frames have a nickel-free coating to comply with international health standards and prevent skin irritation or allergic reactions for the end consumer.

For the US market, frames must be FDA registered as Class I medical devices. For the EU, CE Marking is mandatory, ensuring compliance with EN ISO 12870 standards. These standards test for nickel release levels, bridge distortion, and flame resistance. Always request Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and test reports from accredited third-party labs.

Conduct a spring hinge cycle test (aiming for 20,000+ openings) and a salt spray test (minimum 48 hours) to check for oxidation. Check the soldering points at the bridge and temples; they should be smooth, seamless, and free of bubbles, as weak soldering is the primary cause of frame breakage in metal eyewear.

Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) through a third-party agency. Specifically, request a spectrometer test on a random sample to verify the actual metal composition matches the proforma invoice. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can also provide a safety net, ensuring payment is only released when quality benchmarks are met.

Focus on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) tiers. Many factories offer a lower unit price if you order 300-500 units per model but allow for multiple color assortments (e.g., 100 gold, 100 silver). Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including the cost of branded cases and microfiber cloths, which are often cheaper when bundled at the source.

Eyewear is susceptible to pressure and moisture. Ensure the supplier uses individual polybags, bubble wrap sleeves, and reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons. For shipping to countries with high humidity, include desiccant silica gel packets in every master carton to prevent oxidation of metal components during long-duration sea freight.

Ensure the supplier provides an Authorization Letter if the design resembles a patented brand. If you are developing custom designs (OEM), sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and a Non-Compete Agreement before sharing technical drawings to prevent your proprietary designs from being sold to other competitors on the same platform.
