Wholesale plastic toy bear manufacturers

Safety is the paramount concern in the toy industry. You must ensure products comply with ASTM F963 (USA), EN71 (European Union), and ISO 8124 standards. Specifically, verify that the plastic is BPA-free, phthalate-free, and lead-free. For toys intended for children under 36 months, a Small Parts Test is mandatory to prevent choking hazards. Always request a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) or a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) from the supplier.

Focus on the type of plastic used; ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is preferred for its high impact resistance and glossy finish, while PP (Polypropylene) is more cost-effective but softer. Check for smooth edges and no burrs (excess plastic) to prevent skin abrasions. Ask the supplier for the tensile strength of the joints and ensure the color is injection-molded rather than surface-painted to prevent peeling and ingestion risks.

To differentiate your brand, look for suppliers offering custom mold creation, Pantone color matching, and logo printing (silk screen or pad printing). Professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com should provide 3D prototyping services to help you visualize the design before mass production. Ensure the supplier can handle customized packaging, such as window boxes or eco-friendly hangtags, which are vital for retail appeal.

For wholesale orders, verify the supplier's daily production capacity to ensure they can meet your deadlines. Typical lead times for plastic toys range from 20 to 35 days depending on the complexity and quantity. Ask about mold ownership—if you pay for a custom mold, ensure the contract states you own the intellectual property and the mold itself.

Always use secure payment methods and consider using the Secured Trading Service provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until the goods are shipped. Conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the quality matches the approved sample.

Plastic production is highly dependent on raw material costs (oil prices) and volume. Negotiate based on tiered pricing; for example, a 10,000-unit order should yield a 10-15% discount compared to a 1,000-unit order. If you are a startup, negotiate a lower MOQ for a trial order by offering to pay a slightly higher unit price, with the agreement that the price drops upon reaching a specific annual volume.

Plastic toys are relatively lightweight but can be bulky. To optimize costs, calculate the volumetric weight and choose FCL (Full Container Load) over LCL (Less than Container Load) if possible to reduce damage risks. Ensure the outer cartons are 5-layer corrugated cardboard with moisture-proof liners to prevent warping or discoloration during long-haul sea freight.

Check the HS Code (typically 9503.00) for plastic toys in your country to determine applicable import duties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping duties or specific trade barriers that may apply to plastic goods from certain regions. Always ensure your Commercial Invoice and Packing List are 100% accurate to avoid customs delays and additional storage fees.
