Wholesale digital luggage scale manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize scales with a high-precision sensor system capable of measuring up to 50kg/110lbs with a graduation of 10g/0.02lb. Ensure the device features a backlit LCD display for readability in low-light conditions and supports unit conversion (kg, lb, oz, g). A durable nylon strap or stainless steel hook is essential for securing heavy bags, and the housing should be made of high-impact ABS plastic to withstand travel wear.

For the US market, ensure the product is FCC certified and complies with California Proposition 65 regarding lead and phthalates. For the EU, CE marking and RoHS compliance (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) are mandatory. Since these devices contain batteries, they must meet UN38.3 standards for safe air transport, and the batteries themselves should be mercury-free.

Request the supplier to demonstrate the Auto-Hold function, which locks the weight on the screen once stabilized, and the Tare function for weighing items in containers. Verify the Auto-off feature (usually 60 seconds) to preserve battery life. It is also critical to check for an overload indicator and a low battery warning to ensure user safety and device longevity.

Most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer silk-screen logo printing on the scale body and customized blister or color box packaging. For large orders, you can request custom firmware (e.g., specific startup logos) or unique casing colors (Pantone matching). Ensure the supplier can provide high-resolution mockups before mass production begins.

Digital scales usually contain CR2032 lithium button cells or AAA batteries. These are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) in international shipping. You must ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Non-Dangerous Goods Declaration. Using specialized electronics couriers or sea freight is often more cost-effective than standard air express for battery-included items.

Start by requesting a tiered pricing structure (e.g., 500, 1000, and 5000 units). For initial market testing, negotiate a lower MOQ for a trial order by offering to pay a slightly higher unit price, which can be credited back on your first full-scale bulk order. Always confirm if the quoted price is FOB (Free On Board) to avoid unexpected local logistics charges.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are only released after you confirm receipt of the goods. For large transactions, consider a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L). Never wire money to personal bank accounts; always ensure the account name matches the registered company name on the platform.

Hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). They should check for calibration accuracy, battery contact stability, and packaging integrity. A common standard is the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) 2.5/4.0, which defines the maximum number of defects allowed before a lot is rejected.
