Riboflavin 5 phosphate sodium manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize purity levels (typically ≥98%) and ensure the product meets international pharmacopoeia standards such as USP, EP, or BP. Key indicators include solubility in water, pH value (usually between 5.0 and 6.5), and specific rotation. For food or supplement use, verify the heavy metal limits (Lead <2ppm, Arsenic <1ppm) and microbiological counts to ensure safety and efficacy.

Depending on the end-use, suppliers should provide GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification for pharmaceutical grades or ISO 22000/HACCP for food-grade applications. For the US market, FDA registration is essential, while the EU market requires REACH compliance. Additionally, Kosher and Halal certifications are highly recommended to expand market accessibility in the health supplement sector.

Riboflavin 5 Phosphate Sodium is highly photosensitive and slightly hygroscopic. It must be stored in tight, light-resistant containers at controlled temperatures. When sourcing, ensure the supplier uses aluminum foil vacuum packaging or dark fiber drums. During transit, specify protection from light and moisture to prevent degradation of the active vitamin B2 content.

Unlike standard Riboflavin, the Phosphate Sodium form is water-soluble, making it ideal for liquid formulations, injections, and eye drops. It is widely used in the food industry as a yellow colorant and in the pharmaceutical industry for treating Vitamin B2 deficiency. Its high bioavailability makes it a premium choice for high-end dietary supplements and functional beverages.

Always request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the specific batch being shipped. Utilize Made-in-China.com's secured payment services to ensure funds are only released after the shipping documents are verified. It is also advisable to order a small sample (100g-500g) for third-party lab testing before committing to a bulk container load.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; prices often drop significantly when moving from 25kg (standard drum) to 500kg or 1MT orders. Discuss long-term supply contracts to hedge against price volatility in raw chemical markets. Additionally, negotiating Incoterms like CIF or DAP can sometimes be more cost-effective if the supplier has established high-volume contracts with global freight forwarders.

Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Certification for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods. Although it is generally classified as non-hazardous for sea and air freight, it must be kept away from strong oxidizing agents. For trans-oceanic shipping, ensure the use of desiccants inside the containers to prevent clumping due to humidity.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com, as these companies have undergone on-site verification of their business licenses and production capabilities. Check the supplier's export history and look for those with at least 3-5 years of experience in the chemical export industry to ensure they understand complex customs documentation and international trade laws.
