Oil filled pressure gauges manufacturers

Oil-filled gauges, typically filled with glycerin or silicone oil, are designed to dampen vibration and pressure pulsations. This lubrication reduces wear on moving parts, significantly extending the service life of the gauge. Additionally, the liquid fill prevents condensation from forming inside the dial, ensuring clear readability in environments with high humidity or extreme temperature fluctuations.

The choice depends on the ambient temperature. Glycerin is the standard choice for most applications and works well between -20°C to 60°C. However, for extreme cold environments, Silicone oil is preferred as it maintains low viscosity down to -40°C. For applications involving strong oxidizing agents, specialized Fluorinated liquids must be used to avoid chemical reactions.

Buyers must specify the Accuracy Class (e.g., CL 1.0, 1.6, or 2.5 according to EN 837-1). Ensure the wetted parts (Bourdon tube and socket) are made of 316 Stainless Steel for corrosive media or Brass for non-corrosive gases/liquids. Additionally, verify the IP Rating (typically IP65 or IP67) to ensure the casing is hermetically sealed against dust and water ingress.

Ensure the products comply with ASME B40.100 (USA) or EN 837-1 (Europe) standards. For high-pressure equipment, PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) certification is often required. If the gauges are used in hazardous areas, ATEX or IECEx explosion-proof certification is mandatory to ensure operational safety.

The primary risk is leakage due to pressure changes during air freight. Ensure the supplier uses vented plugs or high-quality EPDM seals. You should also request MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for the filling liquid to facilitate customs clearance, as some oils may be flagged as sensitive chemicals.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Check for ISO 9001 certification and look for suppliers with a high 'Trust Points' score. Requesting a calibration report for a sample unit is a highly effective way to validate their QC capabilities before placing a bulk order.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for orders exceeding 500 units, aim for a 15-20% discount. Negotiate for customized dial faces (including your brand logo and specific units like PSI/Bar/KPa) to be included in the unit price. Also, discuss warranty terms, pushing for at least 12-18 months to cover the duration of international shipping and local distribution.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after the shipping documents are verified. For large-scale orders, consider using a Letter of Credit (L/C) or a 30% deposit / 70% balance against B/L copy structure to maintain cash flow and supplier accountability.
