Neodymium magnet price manufacturers

The price is primarily driven by the Grade (e.g., N35, N52, 45SH). The number represents the Maximum Energy Product (BHmax), while the letters indicate Temperature Resistance. Higher grades like N52 or high-temperature grades like EH or AH are significantly more expensive due to the higher concentration of Dysprosium (Dy) and Terbium (Tb). Additionally, Dimensional Tolerances (standard is +/-0.05mm) and Coating types (Ni-Cu-Ni, Zinc, or Epoxy) directly impact the final quotation.

Neodymium magnets are subject to Rare Earth market volatility. Prices for Praseodymium-Neodymium (PrNd) oxide can shift weekly. For large-scale buyers, it is advisable to seek Price Validity Periods of 7-14 days from suppliers. To mitigate risk, consider Long-term Supply Agreements with a Price Index Linkage to ensure stability during market spikes.

Suppliers must provide RoHS and REACH certifications to ensure the absence of hazardous substances, especially for electronics or toy applications. For medical or aerospace sectors, ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 (Automotive Quality Management) is essential. Furthermore, magnets intended for air transport must comply with IATA Packing Instruction 953, requiring Magnetic Shielding Packaging to ensure the field strength is less than 0.00525 gauss at 15 feet.

Request a Demagnetization Curve (Hysteresis Loop) Report from the supplier's PCT (Pressure Cooker Test) or HAST (Highly Accelerated Stress Test) equipment. Buyers should also verify Salt Spray Test (SST) results for coating durability, typically requiring 24 to 48 hours for standard Ni-Cu-Ni plating to ensure corrosion resistance in humid environments.

The primary risk is Air Freight Rejection. Magnets are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods if not properly shielded. Buyers should ensure the supplier provides a Magnetic Inspection Report from a recognized third-party laboratory. For sea freight, ensure Vacuum Packaging with Desiccant is used to prevent Oxidation and Hydrogenation, which can crumble the magnets during long transit times.

Focus on Volume-Based Tiered Pricing. Since the setup cost for Sintering and Machining is high, increasing the order quantity from 1,000 to 10,000 pieces can reduce the unit price by 20-40%. Always ask for the Net Weight of the Rare Earth content to compare quotes accurately between different manufacturers, as some may use lower-grade scrap material to reduce costs.

Utilize Secured Payment Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For first-time orders exceeding $10,000, it is highly recommended to hire a Third-Party Inspection Agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the Magnetic Flux (Gauss) and physical dimensions match the proforma invoice.
