K9 blank crystal price manufacturers

K9 crystal is a high-quality optical borosilicate glass known for its exceptional clarity and refractive index. When sourcing, you must verify the refractive index (typically 1.51) and the dispersion (Abbe number around 64). Ensure the blanks are free of bubbles, scratches, and lead impurities, as these affect the laser engraving quality. For 3D laser engraving applications, the internal homogeneity of the crystal is critical to prevent cracking during the high-heat laser process.

High-end K9 blanks should feature precision-polished surfaces with a flatness tolerance of λ/4 or better for optical use, or a mirror-finish for decorative use. Check for beveled edges (chamfering) to prevent chipping during transit and handling. A professional supplier on Made-in-China.com should provide samples where you can inspect the transmittance rate, which should ideally be above 90% for premium grade K9.

While K9 is often called 'crystal,' it is technically a glass. You must ensure the product complies with REACH and RoHS regulations, particularly regarding lead and cadmium content, to avoid customs issues in the EU and North America. If the blanks are intended for awards or gifts, verify that the packaging materials also meet international environmental standards like FSC certification for paper boxes.

Standard shapes like cubes, blocks, and diamonds usually have lower Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) and faster lead times. Custom geometric shapes or irregular hand-cut designs will significantly increase the unit price by 20-40% due to higher labor costs and material wastage. For cost-efficiency, try to align your requirements with standardized dimensions (e.g., 50x50x80mm) which are mass-produced.

The biggest risk is fragility and breakage. K9 crystal is heavy and brittle. You must insist on individual bubble wrapping, high-density foam inserts, and double-walled corrugated outer cartons. For large shipments, palletization with plastic wrap is mandatory to prevent shifting. Always clarify the incoterms; using CIF or DAP with comprehensive cargo insurance is highly recommended to cover potential transit damage.

Utilize the 'Audited Supplier' reports on Made-in-China.com to check the manufacturer's production capacity and factory photos. Look for suppliers with ISO 9001 certification. Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or Intertek to verify that the clarity and dimensions match the approved sample before the final balance is paid.

Negotiate based on volume tiers. K9 material costs are stable, but polishing labor is the variable. Ask for a breakdown of material vs. processing costs. If you are a repeat buyer, negotiate for free mold fees on custom shapes or a 5-10% discount on orders exceeding 2,000 units. Also, discuss payment terms; a standard 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is common for established trade relationships.

Always conduct transactions through secured payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the quality grade (Grade A vs. Grade B), packaging specifications, and the agreed-upon lead time to provide legal recourse in case of disputes.
