Glass wash hand basins manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize tempered glass (toughened glass) with a thickness of at least 12mm to 19mm to ensure impact resistance and thermal stability. It is crucial to verify that the glass has undergone a heat soak test to minimize the risk of spontaneous breakage. For high-end projects, look for low-iron glass (ultra-clear) to avoid the natural green tint of standard glass, ensuring true color representation for painted or foiled finishes.

To ensure market access and user safety, products must comply with EN 14688 (European standard for wash basins) or ASME A112.19.2/CSA B45.1 (North American standard). Additionally, ensure the glass meets cUPC certification for plumbing products in the US and Canada, and CE marking for the European Economic Area. These certifications guarantee that the basin can withstand temperature fluctuations and load-bearing requirements.

Inspect the edge polishing; it should be a smooth 'pencil edge' or 'flat polish' with no visible micro-cracks or chips. For basins with hand-painted or foiled under-coatings, ensure the pigment is sealed with a waterproof protective layer to prevent peeling or oxidation over time. Request a salt spray test report for any integrated metal hardware or pop-up drains to ensure corrosion resistance in humid bathroom environments.

Confirm the drain hole diameter (standard is usually 1.75 inches) to ensure compatibility with global plumbing fixtures. If sourcing vessel sinks, verify the height of the matching faucet required. For wall-mounted glass basins, the bracket load-bearing capacity must be clearly defined, typically requiring a minimum support of 100kg to account for the weight of the glass and water pressure.

Glass is a high-risk category for shipping. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons with form-fitted EPE foam (Expanded Polyethylene) packaging. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, require wooden crates or palletization with 'Fragile' and 'This Side Up' labels in multiple languages. It is highly recommended to use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to ensure the goods are inspected before final payment.

Focus on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) flexibility for mixed-color containers, as glass production runs often require specific furnace setups. Negotiate for a 1-3% spare parts allowance (extra basins or mounting hardware) to cover potential minor transit damages. Always request FOB (Free On Board) pricing to maintain control over your freight forwarder and insurance costs, which are critical for fragile items.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TÜV Rheinland. Review their Audit Reports specifically for 'Production Capacity' and 'Quality Control Processes.' Check if the supplier has a dedicated R&D team if you require custom molds or OEM designs, as this indicates a higher level of manufacturing maturity.

The pre-shipment inspection should include a thermal shock test (alternating boiling and ice water), a dimension accuracy check (tolerance within ±2mm), and a visual inspection under high-intensity light to detect internal bubbles or impurities. Ensure the logo printing or etching is consistent across the batch and that all mounting accessories are included in the box as per the contract.
