Boswellia serrata extract manufacturers

The primary active compounds are Boswellic Acids. For B2B procurement, you should prioritize extracts standardized to at least 60% to 65% Total Boswellic Acids via titration. For high-potency applications, look for AKBA (3-O-acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid) content, which is the most powerful anti-inflammatory component; premium extracts often guarantee 10% to 30% AKBA.

Suppliers must provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. For the US market, ensure the facility is FDA Registered and follows cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). For global distribution, look for ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications. If targeting specific dietary markets, Kosher and Halal certifications are highly recommended to increase marketability.

Request third-party lab reports (such as SGS or Eurofins) that confirm the product meets USP or EP standards for heavy metals (Lead <0.5ppm, Mercury <0.1ppm). Since Boswellia is a natural resin, it is crucial to verify solvent residue levels, ensuring they fall within ICH Q3C guidelines, particularly if ethanol or ethyl acetate was used during extraction.

Boswellia extract is typically available as a fine yellow-white powder. For capsules and tablets, a non-hygroscopic powder with good flowability is essential. If you are developing functional beverages or liquid supplements, you must specifically request water-soluble Boswellia extract, as the natural resin is inherently oil-soluble and requires specialized emulsification.

Adulteration with cheaper resins is a common risk. Use High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) testing to verify the fingerprint of the extract. Always request a pre-shipment sample from Made-in-China.com audited suppliers and ensure the bulk cargo matches the sample's chromatographic profile.

Boswellia extract is sensitive to heat and moisture. Negotiate for vacuum-sealed aluminum foil packaging and specify cool, dry storage during transit. For large orders, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over the logistics provider, and aim for a lead time of 10-15 days for standard specifications.

Utilize the secured payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon confirmation of shipping documents. Avoid direct wire transfers to unknown accounts. For first-time large orders, consider hiring a third-party inspection service to verify the goods at the factory before the final balance is paid.

While Boswellia serrata (Indian Frankincense) is currently not listed under CITES appendices, some other Boswellia species are under scrutiny. Always ensure the Latin name (Boswellia serrata) is clearly stated on the Phytosanitary Certificate and commercial invoice to avoid customs delays or seizures related to endangered species regulations.
