2 euro coins manufacturers

When sourcing 2 Euro coins, especially for the numismatic market, you must verify the diameter (25.75 mm), thickness (2.20 mm), and weight (8.50 grams). For authentic or high-quality commemorative items, the composition should be bi-metallic: a copper-nickel core and a nickel-brass outer ring. Ensure the edge lettering (e.g., '2 ★ ★' repeated) is crisp and matches the specific issuing country's standards to ensure market value.

Sourcing currency-related items is highly sensitive. You must ensure the supplier adheres to European Central Bank (ECB) regulations regarding the reproduction of Euro banknotes and coins. If purchasing 'souvenir' or 'replica' coins, they must be clearly marked 'COPY' or have a diameter/thickness that differs significantly from legal tender to avoid customs seizure and legal liability under anti-counterfeiting legislation.

For B2B buyers targeting the collector market, quality is paramount. Proof coins must feature a mirror-like background and frosted relief, achieved through specialized die polishing. Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coins should show no signs of wear, scratches, or oxidation. Request high-resolution macro photography and verify that the supplier uses air-tight acrylic capsules or vacuum-sealed blister packs to prevent toning or environmental degradation during transit.

These items are primarily used for numismatic retail, corporate gifts, or educational sets. In the B2B sector, they are often integrated into limited edition coin albums or sold as individual commemorative pieces for historical anniversaries. Ensure the supplier can provide Certificates of Authenticity (CoA) if the coins are marketed as official mint issues.

The biggest risk is Customs Seizure. Many countries have strict prohibitions on importing items that resemble legal tender. To mitigate this, always use HS Code 7118.90 (Coins, not being legal tender) or 7118.10 (Coin, other than gold coin, not being legal tender). Ensure all documentation clearly states the non-monetary nature of the goods if they are replicas or souvenirs.

Focus on packaging and protection. Negotiate for double-walled export cartons and moisture-absorbent silica gel packs. For large orders, request a tiered pricing structure where the unit price decreases by 10-15% for orders exceeding 5,000 units. Always insist on a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS to verify the strike quality and metal composition.

Use Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after you confirm receipt and quality. Avoid direct wire transfers to unknown accounts. For high-value numismatic items, consider escrow services and ensure the supplier provides a traceable tracking number from reputable couriers like DHL or FedEx to prevent loss in transit.

Coins are heavy and take up little space, making them ideal for Sea Freight (LCL) if you are ordering in bulk (e.g., 500kg+). However, for high-value commemorative coins, Air Freight with insurance is preferred to minimize the time the goods are in the logistics chain, thereby reducing the risk of theft or damage.
